Rescued scalded dog, now recovering well
In one of our recent community outreach visits, our veterinary team encountered a dog lying helplessly on the ground with extensive burns across his back after boiling water had been deliberately poured over him. It was evident that every breath and every attempt to stand was painful. He was immediately taken for treatment, and we are glad that after several weeks of treating him, he is almost recovering. Like many abused animals, he could not tell us what had happened. His wounds told the story. While our veterinary team immediately began emergency treatment, and as we cared for him, one question remained in our minds: why did such cruelty happen in the first place? Sadly, this dog is not alone.
We can do better for our animals; let’s uphold the five freedoms of animals all the time.
